Message from our Principal - Mrs. Jackson

Greetings Panthers!

It is an absolute honor to be your principal! I am truly excited to be a part of the Mountain View School District and to be a part of the rich history at Grace Yokley Middle School.

I am a proud graduate of Azusa Pacific University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Education.  My educational career began in the mid 1990’s where I taught English at the secondary level. With an eight year hiatus to raise our three children, I picked my career right back up in 2007 and once again taught English, coached softball, cheer, and was class ASB advisor.  My passion for education continued to grow over the past five years as an Assistant Principal.

My husband, Rick, and I have been married for 28 years and have three amazing children. Stephen and Emily are recent graduates from Azusa Pacific University where our youngest, Rachel, is entering into her Sophomore year.

Throughout the school year, I ask that all of us continue the rich legacy of Grace Yokley.  Whether you are a student, parent, or staff member, I challenge you to make choices that embodies the GYS spirit.  Be prompt, prepared, and respectful so that those around us remember our name in the most positive of ways. It is thrilling for me to take part in this journey alongside you and in making Grace Yokley Middle School a place where you belong.

Message from our Assistant Principal - Mrs. Paterson

It is with great enthusiasm that I join the GYS team as your Assistant Principal.  I look forward to working with Mrs. Jackson, as well as the rest of our staff, in our efforts to advance the achievement of all students on our campus.  Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide GYS students a truly rigorous and enriching school experience.  Grace Yokley is a special and unique community of which I am proud to be a part.

The middle school years are impactful for students.  My goal as Assistant Principal is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment that is safe, respectful, and enriching, in order for each child to receive the best possible academic instruction and experience.  I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where students grow both socially and academically.

I look forward to meeting our parents and students and embarking on this new journey.

Message from Our Counselor - Mr. Green

missing-Student ID.jpgIt is an honor to serve as the counselor for Grace Yokley Middle School.  Working with students for many years, I understand that student success is only evident when you provide a positive and safe learning environment.

My goal as a counselor is to continue supporting all students by preparing them for the academic and social challenges they will encounter, as well as provide them with the skills and tools needed to become contributing members of our society.
